Cowboys and Aliens Nuffnang and Pizza Hut Movie Screening

We were among the lucky ones invited to the Nuffnang and Pizza Hut Cowboys and Aliens.  Although it was a long ride to Gateway , we just couldn't pass up this chance.

When we arrived at the venue, we were surprised to see that organizers prepare for us a buffet right in the middle of Gateways Cineplex area.

As soon as I registered, I was given this cool "I Nuffnang" button pin along with the tickets.  We were also invited to join the buffet.

We were expecting pizza but instead, there was my favorite, Mozzarella Sticks!  French fries, Chicken Tenders and Iced Tea were also served.  Pizza Hut Bistro did a great job in refilling the food.  They also had attentive staffs roaming around to collect the empty dishes.

Before we entered Cinema 3, we passed by a strike against cold pizza.  Haven't seen a strike inside a mall before?  Check out the short video we caught.

We were surprised that aside from our FREE meal, we were also given FREE popcorn and a bottled water each.

It was out first time to watch a movie at Gateway Mall Cineplex and we really liked it.  The seating are all leveled except for the two rows near the screen.

After a brief introduction with Pizza Hut's Managers, there was a special performance by the Pizza Hut Riders.  The crowd was pleased and was even cheering for more!  I guess riding +dancing is a perfect combo.=p

If you can't see the riders, there's nothing wrong with your eyes.  We apologize for our crappy camera.=)
The Pizza Hut Riders roamed around and let us test the hotness of their pizzas.

Were the Pizzas hot on the dot?  Let's view our actual test in the video below, shall we?
The best part of all is our FREE slice of HOT Pizza Hut Supreme Pizza.  YUM!  Kurt and I both love pizza especially with some dabs of hot sauce.

As we ate our pizza, the lights went off and the movie began.  Check out my Movie Review: Cowboys and Aliens (see separate entry).  I'd say everyone except for the busy texters (sorry could not help but notice a lot of bright lights beneath us)  enjoyed the movie.

Overall, I have to say that this is the BEST movie screening yet!  It was a lot of fun!  A BIG thanks to Nuffnang and Pizza Hut for the loads of treats including the HOT on the dot pizzas.=)  Honestly, this is more than we expected and we could not have asked for anything more.

Movie Review: Cowboy and Aliens (plus Hidden Spoilers)

By the sound of the title "Cowboys and Aliens", I had the impression that this movie wants to be different from all the other alien films out there.  At first it may sound ridiculous.  But if you think about it aren't aliens are fictional in the first place?  I am really curious whether they could pull it off or not so I just had to watch it.

The movie can be best enjoyed by keeping your mind open and using your imagination.  If you put a blind eye and on some of the illogical scenes and plot holes, the movie can be fun and entertaining.  But being directed by Jon Favreau, I was disappointed by the plot.

Some illogical scenes in white ink:
  • When aliens die, don't their weapons drop off?

  • If the alien woman can withstand fire, why not an explosion?

  • Why didn't they just use explosives to fight the aliens?

Since the plot not that spectacular and unique as it seems, it required good actors to play their roles.   Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford fit their roles well.  I'd imagine the movie becoming worse if they didn't play their part.

There was a lot of action in this movie but I'd say it was not enough to make the movie exciting.  A lot of gunshots were made but of course, we want to see something more than that. The effects were good but not that much was needed for the movie.  I appreciated that there were bits of humor, romance and drama mixed in. The presentation of the alien was not that different from other movies but it was okay.
Spoiler alert in white ink: I'd like to note that the indians were discredited in this movie.=p
Overall,  I'd say its a so-so movie.  It's okay to watch to pass some time or if you're curious on how the movie goes.  It is passable but not impressive.
