We arrived at Cinema 5 at around 6:30 p.m. as advised for the Captain America Blocked Screening sponsored by Captain America Philippines. We claimed our FREE tickets which were free-seating but bloggers were allocated to seat only at the lower right side.
We decided to have dinner at Burger King before the movie starts. It has been a long time since I had a Burger King Whopper. I'm glad its still huge and tasty.
At around 7:40 p.m., we came back to cinema 5. We noticed that other cinemas showing Captain America: The First Avenger all had long lines. We were fortunate enough to win our way to the event which was FREE and hassle-free.
We got inside to find our seats just a few minutes before the show started. It was only during the show did I realize that when you're seated below, no matter where you seat ,be it front or back, you'd still be looking up.=p At exactly 8:00 p.m. "Captain America: The First Avengers" started.
After the movie, I noticed that there were many vacant seats in the lower areas. While waiting for the post-credits, we went up to the VIP and cosplayers area to have some pictures with them. Check it out Marvel characters watching a movie together. Ironic?=)
Overall, it was a fun night. The event was well-organized. It was a brilliant idea for Captain America Philippines to treat Captain America fans out for a movie they'll always remember. Check out my review of Captain America: The First Avenger (see separate entry)

Movie Review: Captain America: The First Avenger
When we were little, we used to watch Captain America in cartoons. As I grew older, Captain America became less appealing to me as more interesting cartoon superheroes were being promoted.
Until this movie, I've never heard of Captain America for a long time so I was really curious how this movie "Captain America: The First Avenger" would turn out.
It turned out that there is a deeper story to Captain America than I remembered. Through this movie, I was able to appreciate his characteristics. I loved how it was presented in the movie. The pacing and development was perfect. The effects were pretty good. The film had a good share of action. It also had some humor mixed it.
Chris Evans looked really cool and charismatic in the movie. He was a perfect portrayal of Captain America. He looked really well in the Captain America costume. I originally though it would be the plain and boring but it was presented in the movie as a cool upgrade from the classic form.
As expected from a Marvel Movie, Stan Lee once again playing a cameo role and a post-credit scene. This time Stan Lee has a one-liner dialogue. Did you notice him at the scene? The post-credit teaser was amazing! I can't wait for the next marvel film! How about you?

Captain America is my patriotic idol
Captain America named Steve Rogers used to be just an ordinary human in poor shape. Because of his will and determination to serve his country, he was brave enough to agree to be tested in a top-secret defense project and become the subject for the Super Soldier Serum.
Once he underwent physical transformation and became strong, he fought for his country. He was ready for combat just with his mighty shield. I just love it when he makes his brave stance with his shield. I could feel his courage to go against anything.
Captain America is my
Intelligent
- He is a good tactician and strategist. He is not only powerful but he uses his mind in his missions.
Determined
- He is brave and determined. He goes to his battles with courage and determination.
Outstanding
- He is an outstanding fighter who is excellent with martial arts and can aim perfectly with his shield.
Leader
- He is a good leader and commander.
So when I heard a Captain America movie will soon to be shown entitled "Captain America – The First Avenger" I was so excited. Check out the trailer below. Really cool!

Movie Review: Thor in full 3D

After seeing the trailer of Thor, Kurt and I have been eagerly waiting for the showing of Thor. Yesterday, we finally got to watch it on its first day at Greenbelt Cinema 3. It did not fail to please us. The 3D effects were amazing and it was really worth it since it was in full 3D. According to my brother there were two versions of his fictional character biography: traditional (1960's) and modern. I'm not familiar with the modern version but I am certain that the movie was not based on the traditional version.
Although I would have expected a longer fight scene, the movie had adequate pacing. The plot was had been carefully set out. The main characters were properly introduced and developed. It had the right combination of hilarious jokes and drama scenes. This would probably have another sequel and we would definitely watch it.
Despite Thor being a movie usually of interest to the guys, Chris Hemsworth's perfect body, charisma and charms will surely make this movie entertaining to the girls as well. He and Natalie Portman really did a good job in acting out their role. The movie is adequate for audiences of all ages. Every Marvel movie has a post credit teaser for their next movie. As expected, there is one too in this movie. We noticed that not all audience know that since only a few of us were left in the theater after the credits. Well, if I were you I'd watch out for it. It's part of what you paid for. I don't think watching it in YouTube would be a good compensation especially since it's in 3D too. Though honestly we do not know what the teaser means yet. But I bet it would probably be related to Marvel's upcoming movies either Captain America or the Avengers. Stan Lee also made an appearance as a pick- up truck driver.
