Vaccinations at Philippine Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) Clinic

We can still recall the days when we first had our first dog. As my mom brought him home, I was so surprised to see this wrinkly breed with a shy and worried look. I then called Kurt. I said "Kurt, mom brought home some wrinkly breed I can't recall the name. You know I hate pets. I'd rather die than to take care of him. I'm sure he will be left home here at my care." Kurt replied, "Is it a sharpei?"

Flashforward to the present, now we have six sharpeis and one maltese all of which are trained and taken care of by us. We didn't have the heart to sell the puppies so we kept them all thinking that only we could provide the best care. One of our responsibilities as dog owners is to have their annual vaccination. Although every year we take them to Vets in Practice or the nearby Animal Kingdom, this year we decided to save some money by trying out the Philippine Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) Clinic.


We called prior to ask what is their operating hours and where told they are open until 5 p.m. on mondays to saturdays. Come saturday, we arrived there at 4:40 p.m. and they were already closed. It turns out that they operate only until 4:30 p.m. My mom had to beg the doctor and we were so lucky that the kind doctor agreed.
We seated ourselves at the waiting area. While waiting we saw a 1.5 month old sharpei x jack rusell mix in dextrose and it was so pitiful because it was so thin and it was barfing from time to time. We asked his owner what's wrong with her and she said that she pukes and poops uncontrollably. We really hope she gets well. Its really terrible that some people sell puppies that young.

 

After three dog patients and one cat patient, it was finally our turn. We were led to their clinic which had two desks and three examination tables. Then we had our four sharpeis vaccinated in the following order:

1. Oreo - 6 in 1 Vaccine (380 php)
2. Toffee - 5 in 1 Vaccine (275 php)
3. Mochi - 5 in 1 Vaccine (275 php)
4. Butter - Anti-Rabies Vaccine (120 php)

It only took us around 5 minutes for the vaccination. After that we paid the guard outside the clinic and left.

      We couldn't believe how cheap the vaccinations cost. We will probably come back here every year for their vaccination. The doctor was kind and the price is affordable. We are so glad that there are non-profit organizations like Philippine Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) that genuinely offer good service at the best price.
